Regular Member

A Member shall be working/practicing or has worked/practiced in the highway industry or its allied fields. All members shall have a high school education or its equivalent. Prospective members apply by applying through their local ASHE section. Forms are available on this website.

Student Member

A Student Member shall consist of those persons who are currently pursuing a degree in engineering, surveying, or other highway industry related fields from a university, college or technical school. Persons in a Masters Program are ineligible to be a Student Member but are eligible to be a Member.

At-Large Member

This category applies to persons residing in the U.S. and qualifying to be a regular member but not located near an active ASHE section. Prospective members can apply by submitting an application on ASHE’s national website.

International At-Large Member

This category applies to persons qualifying to be a regular member but located outside of the U.S. Prospective members can apply by submitting an application on ASHE’s national website.

Life Member

A Life Member shall have been a dues paying member for 25 years, and shall have been active in ASHE activities. The Section Board selects Life Members from their Section membership roster.

Honorary Member

A Honorary Membership shall be chosen only from those persons who are of acknowledged eminence in some branch of the highway industry or who have singularly advanced the interests of ASHE. The National Board of Directors of ASHE determines approval of candidates. Honorary Members shall be proposed to the National Board by petition of not fewer than 10% of the National ASHE membership.
